Sylvain-Paul Morency is Head of Innovation at Symbotic Canada. In this role, Sylvain-Paul works on long-range innovation strategy for the Symbotic system and related solutions spanning across all business groups and sites. Sylvain-Paul was a founder and owner of Axium (palletizing/depalletizing robotics), which was acquired by Symbotic in 2014. During his time at Axium, he held a variety of engineering and innovation-focused positions. He is responsible for many of Axium/Symbotic’s major equipment designs and has contributed to numerous patents for the company. Prior to Axium, Sylvain-Paul was President of Sypamo, a consulting engineering firm which specialized in mechanical process control engineering, handling, environmental and FDS systems in Montreal. Sylvain-Paul has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Montreal – Polytechnique de Montreal.
