Richard (Rick) Schlueter was appointed vice president, controller and chief accounting officer of Emerson in 2011. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the worldwide consolidation and analysis of the company's financial results, providing financial analysis of complex transactions and supporting the acquisition and divestiture program, providing leadership on internal controls and setting global accounting policies, and ensuring integrity in the company's financial accounting and reporting. Schlueter joined Emerson in 1987. He held a number of financial leadership positions, including assistant controller, before being promoted to vice president of accounting in 1999 and chief accounting officer in 2003. Prior to joining Emerson, Schlueter held positions in an international metals and mining company and in public accounting. Schlueter is a member of Financial Executives International and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the board of directors of the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery. Schlueter received a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and a master's in business administration in finance from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
