Johan joined TomTom in 2021 to lead the company’s product strategy and execution. Johan has a track record of successful product innovations that improve people’s lives. As geographical context is becoming increasingly important, he is determined to further strengthen TomTom’s product portfolio to ensure we provide the best possible solutions on top of our full suite of best-in-class datasets and services to the hundreds of millions of customers and partners worldwide. Prior to TomTom, Johan was CPO at Kobalt Music, where he was responsible for building and improving digital services to empower the music industry. From 2012 until 2019, he worked at Alphabet Inc, first as a product lead at Google, taking over the responsibility for YouTube’s brand advertising product portfolio in 2015. From 2017 until 2019, Johan was head of Offboard Product Management, and part of the leadership team, at Waymo. He built a large product team from the ground up and was responsible for the launch of Waymo One, the first ride hailing service utilizing self-driving vehicles. Johan started his career at McKinsey & Company in 2006. Johan is a Swedish national, based in the Silicon Valley. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master’s degree in Physics and Math from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a Master’s degree in Finance and Business from Stockholm School of Economics.
