James Gifas is the executive vice president and head of Treasury and Payment Services for CIT and has responsibility for treasury and cash management services, community association banking and commercial deposit products across the CIT enterprise. Gifas joined CIT from M&T Bank where he was the senior vice president of Commercial Card and Merchant Services. Prior to that, he was the head of the Financial Institution Revenue Share Alliance Partnerships at First Data Corp. and the senior vice president and head of Treasury Management, Product, Strategy and Innovation at Capital One. Previously, he led Treasury Solutions at RBS Citizens and was responsible for sales, market delivery, and service of treasury business payment solutions. Early in his career, Gifas spent 13 years at Citibank where he had several positions with increasing responsibility in the treasury and cash management areas. He holds a degree in Finance from Iona College.
