Eric is an engineer at heart, passionate about holistically integrated management and leadership as key components to product engineering excellence. He is responsible for the product engineering teams working on TomTom’s online and onboard suite of products related to navigation, traffic and search for automotive and enterprise business customers. Eric first joined TomTom as a strategic architect from 2007 to 2011. He returned to TomTom in 2019 and now holds the position of Chief Technical Officer. He is a creative and open leader, focused on increasing leverage in TomTom’s software engineering community through heightened collaboration and customer focus alongside a DevOps approach. Prior to TomTom, Eric was VP Digital Foundation at Zalando, and the company’s first VP of Engineering. Eric has worked across different industries and at a range of scales, including VP of Architecture at Gilt Groupe, founder and CTO at LooCee and principal architect for the worldwide rollout of 3’s Service Delivery Platform. Eric began his career as part of the core team behind the Sims 1.0 franchise. Eric is a US national, based in Berlin. He is an alumnus of Reed College with a bachelor’s degree in physics.
