Mr. Jiménez has held numerous commercial, strategic and leadership positions in both mature and emerging markets across the world. He imbues a multicultural, patient-centric perspective from these unique experiences that inspires his teams to have a positive impact. In his current role, Mr. Jiménez leads the growing $10+ billion U.S. Immunology franchise, home to many of the most transformational brands in the pharmaceutical industry, including STELARA®, TREMFYA®, SIMPONI ARIA® and REMICADE®. Focused on rheumatology, dermatology and gastroenterology, Mr. Jiménez and his team aspire to relentlessly advance care for patients living with immune-mediated disease through medical innovation and enhancing the patient experience. Mr. Jiménez rose to this position with more than two decades with Johnson & Johnson in a variety of impactful leadership roles across multiple businesses within the medical devices, consumer health and pharmaceutical sectors, including across four continents.
In his immediate past role, Mr. Jiménez led all aspects of the Janssen Pulmonary Hypertension U.S. organization, including medical affairs, marketing and sales, with a laser focus on serving the unique needs of people living with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a rare and progressive disease. He was responsible for increasing patient persistency and industry competitiveness of both in-market brands OPSUMIT® and UPTRAVI®, which achieved blockbuster status in the same year under his leadership.
Mr. Jiménez first joined J&J as a sales representative with Ethicon, a Medical Devices company, in Madrid, Spain. He later became General Manager for the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care Companies (formerly Animas Corporation and LifeScan, Inc.) in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Pakistan – overseeing more than 25 countries. From his base in Dubai, David led the region to double-digit growth and the #1 or #2 position in key markets. Under his leadership, Janssen Puerto Rico became the fastest growing pharmaceutical company on the island with double digit above market growth. Mr. Jiménez has also served as President of Janssen Infectious Diseases U.S., leading the commercial organization through product launches and expansion into areas of unmet need.
